Ship it!

I may have found a new game!  Ship it hollaaaa.  I got 8th in another one of these earlier today too.  I played about 8-10 games.  I am on a stupid downswing in cash games and its been mentally draining.  Can't win a flip to save my life, plus the 10NL games seemed to be pretty dried up this weekend, not sure what's up with that.  I may play 8-10 of these a night and see how I do.  I can probably play 200 before I go busto if I just got lucky.  They seemed pretty soft to me, when it got to heads up, I was in control and very confident I was better than the guy I was playing.  He got me down to about 70k to his 200k but I clawed back and won it.

Sometimes I hate poker

Yesterday and a little today.  Had to move to 10NL now and still running bad.  Sometimes I hate poker.  Oh well, I will just continue trucking and playing good and it has to turn around at some point.  My roll is now at like $430.  I should be at $600 if I ran at EV but now I have to grind 10NL to get back to 600 so I can move up again.  I am going to keep doing this cycle until the gdamn poker gods stop spiting me.

I lost early AA<KK, then I lost a 90/10 in my favor when I had a set of 7's vs naked AA and he hits on the turn ldo.  That was a $133 dollar pot. whoopeeee.

Moved to 25NL

Graph looks pretty ugly.  I ran stupid good at 25NL when I moved up too, I really should be down a good chunk (about 65 above EV now).  I suppose it makes up for all the run bad I had at 10NL, but I seriously need to stop spewing before I lose it all.  One was a 3BI pot with KK that a donkey slow played his 88 set til the river and I bluff catched.  There goes 37 bucks.  Stupid donkeys, should have known they would do something stupid like that.  Another common trend it looks like is slow playing AA. Welcome to 2004.  lol.  Limping/cold calling no matter what seems to be the new trend.  Way to get paid idiots.  I've already cracked them a few times and it feels good since they'll call every bet on every street thinking they're trapping.

My roll is at ~533.  I am going to move back down to 10NL if I hit 450, and grind it back up to 500 and take another shot.  I think the only chance I have of hitting black card is playing 25NL so it is a necessary move that I might as well try taking shots earlier than later.

10 BI Below EV

So I've put in about 35k hands at 10NL Rush and I'm playing fairly well.. not perfect but good enough.  The bad thing is I'm 10 BI Below Allin EV.  That's a hundred dollars.  It sucks because that's just about a third of my roll after cashing out half of it in my move from Jokerstars.  I am still winning, but I'm only up about 70 dollars instead of 170 after this many hands.  170 is about 2.5BB/100 which is fine, whereas 70 is only beating it for 1BB/100.  I've had two sessions where I was 4BI below ev in just a couple thousand hands. That's pretty damn gross.

I want to make Black Card.  My gf is starting to give me crap about playing too much but if I can get Black Card, the FTP points will really start to add up.  It's much easier than getting SN obviously, and Rush is so much easier to play than opening 24 tables and having to try to pay attention to half of them.  With Rush I can just focus on the hands I want to play.  As my HEM db gets bigger I'll probably do some more session reviews, but for now I don't have much more than a 500 hand sample on anybody yet.  The ones I do are regular fish, with plenty of leaks to exploit.

Moved to FTP Rush 5nl-10nl

I know FTP changed their rake structure, and it kind of sucks for nits, but I decided to move off the reg-heavy 24 tabling bore fest that is PokerStars and decided to move my roll over to Ftp.  Not to mention, I suffered a stupid crazy monkey tilt downswing at pokerstars where I lost about 1/3 of my roll on there.

But, the great thing is, I don't really need as big of a roll at FTP to play since you can only open up 4 tables (at minimum only need 20 bucks).  Of course I have much more than that, but I am very comfortable playing with 10-15 buyins whereas on stars I needed to keep at least 60 buyins just to open up 24 tables of 5nl (12.50 per table).  I am also trying out 2 tabling rush 10nl and it's much easier to stay focused since I can skip the boring hands that I'm not playing in.  So far I have been fairly break even (I think I'm up like 10 bucks w/ rakeback), but I'm not really worried about that right now, just trying to get better.  The other side effect of moving to ftp is that I signed up under deuces cracked so I get the free video subscription when I get to $50MGR and free download subscription when I hit $500MGR.  Only takes a few hours to hit $50 and a couple weeks to hit $500MGR so this will be pretty nice to work on my game more.

I am losing a bit to the rake, but it's not my concern right now.  No more of this 24 tabling 5nl bore fest.  I am going to try to get better now.

I think for someone that is moving up, rush is actually a very great game to 1-2 table.  You do miss out on some reads, but so does everyone else so it is a very even playing field.  As I move up I will take more notes after sessions on the players I start accumulating history on.

Fish on a heater

So here was my september grafs, pretty crappy ending, but was just running terrible despite my ev line staying pretty consistent.  Set into set and other just card dead crap not being able to hit a pair vs stations etc etc.

well, at least I scored Gold Star, got 100 reload + 50 stellar.  So around 500 dollar month.

My run bad seemed to continue this month, only this time really hammered my ev line getting it in good but getting sucked out on everytime.  There was like a 30 dollar hand in the middle that I sucked out on, it seems the only way I could win was to get it in bad.  standard ps doomswitch

So I said screw this, went to a different style and here we gooooooooooooo fish on a heater!!!

busto to robusto!  finally some run goot after 2 weeks.
